Mrs. Rella Garber Berman

Marriage & Family Therapist , MA , LMFT

(631) 498-8262
As a systemically trained marriage and family therapist, I work with understanding and respect for individuals, couples and families who are coping with pressing life issues. I believe that treatment must be specific to the person and the problem and be based on a broad array of available clinical modalities and interventions. Often, relationships suffer setbacks at times of life cycle transitions, such as the birth of a child, divorce, serious illness, or death of a parent. At these times, my training and twenty years of experience enable me to effectively support and guide clients as they re-stabilize relationships.
I have extensive experience in working with the stressors of job loss and protracted unemployment, post-partum depression, chronic illness, geriatric and end of life issues. In family therapy family members are empowered to discuss concerns and to search for solutions in a safe and supportive environment.
As a warm and compassionate person, I draw upon my training and experience in Interpersonal, Narrative and Solution Focused modalities. I work with clients, in a supportive and humanistic way, to explore possibilities that will facilitate growth, change, and resolution of the relationship problems that are impacting on their lives.
