Each person begins therapy with their own unique needs and concerns. I work with each client as an individual to develop the skills needed to manage distress and feel more in control of their life. Sometimes it is very useful to explore how past events and relationships continue to impact our lives in the present. At other times it is more important to focus on the here and now. Perhaps most important, however, is the match between therapist and client, so I encourage prospective clients to come in for a session or two in order to determine if we are a good match.

In addition to psychotherapy with individuals and couples, I also do a considerable amount of psychological testing and psychological evaluations. The testing that I do includes intellectual assessment (IQ testing), evaluations for Attention-deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and social-emotional/personality assessment for private clients, inpatient treatment facilities and schools.

My office is located in a rural town where there is a good deal of privacy for clients. This can be comforting to clients who prefer not to run into people they know. Feel free to give me a call to discuss what you are looking for.
