Dr. Steven Smith

I am a psychologist with 22 years of experience. I enjoy my work very much and use a cognitive/interpersonal approach to help people make desired changes in their lives. Sometimes we have been wounded in the past and need healing. Sometimes our life is out of control and we don't know how to piece it back together. Many times our communication is creating a struggle in our relationships. In my therapy, I seek to create a space of healing and safety. My style is fairly directive with clients and I often give homework to make therapy visits more productive.

We all go through life changes that are challenging from time to time and bring about a level of stress that can be very hard to manage. Having the needed support and a chance to view your experience from a new perspective from a trained therapist can be immensely helpful.
