Dr. Susan E Hickman

Psychologist , PhD , PsyD

(423) 453-4761
Clinical specialties include parent-child relationships, family conflict, spirituality, anxiety (including panic attacks, phobias, general anxiety but not OCD), trauma, childhood sexual or physical abuse, bulimia and compulsive overeating. I also complete evaluations in the field of reproductive medicine. Through Psych Assess, we offer a full range of psychological assessments for children and adults. When weekly outpatient sessions are insufficient for accomplishing desired recovery levels, Serenity Center's Intensive Outpatient Program offers more intensive treatment for general menial health symptoms for adolescents and adults such as anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, dissociation, etc.
I also provide coaching services for individuals who need to create, produce and sell their own unique content relevant to a specific business or specialty. The program provides an A to Z platform for writing, packaging, marketing and/or selling specific digital/print media products.
We have three businesses onsite including Mind Matters, LLC (http://www.DrSusanHickman.com), Psych Assess (psychological evaluations: http://www.PsychAssessTN.com) and Serenity Center (Intensive Outpatient Program: http://www.SerenityCenterUSA.com). Onsite therapists also offer various groups and clinical specialties. For an overview, see: http://www.DrSusanHickman.com.

Serenity Center Intensive Outpatient Program

Serenity Center's Intensive Outpatient Program is intended for adolescents and adults who are experiencing overwhelming and life-interrupting general mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, PTSD/trauma, dissociation, mood disorders, adjustment disorders, etc. Patients suitable for the IOP would be those who either have more severe symptoms than can be effectively treated by weekly outpatient settings or who have not made sufficient progress or symptoms are worsening. Unlike traditional IOPs, we offer a core curriculum plus highly individualized services based on specific patient needs. Contact us for information on next available space for admission.
