Susan Waters

My therapeutic approach is holistic and individualistic. I have training and competency in psychodynamic as well as cognitive-behavioral and brief-therapy models. My training and experience has been geared toward helping clients who are struggling with : ADHD,depression and anxiety disorders, PTSD, substance abuse recovery,bi-polar disorder and parenting and relationhship issues.

In addition to traditional psychotherapeutic approaches and monitoring of prescribed pharmaceuticals, I encourage clients to find ways to improve their mental health by paying attention to diet and exercise,stress reduction, evaluation of work and leisure activities, their spiritual path and ways of relating to others.

I have worked successfully with children, adolescents and adults. I have studied equine-assisted and canine-assisted psychotherapy techniques and have a special interest in the mental health benefits of the companion animal-human bond. I am currently working on certification as an herbalist and am interested in natural healing methods.
