Susanne Johnson

In my practice it has become clear to me that trauma, abuse, and neglect early in life can have devastating effects (addictions, eating disorders, depression, relationship difficulties, etc.). I believe it is necessary to grieve this past in order to move beyond.

I provide a safe place for individuals, couples, and families to explore difficult thoughts and feelings. My therapeutic style has been described by others as, "down to earth". I think I have been described this way because I practice presence, empathy and an unconditional positive regard for others.

Prior to private practice my counseling work involved inpatient and intensive outpatient treatment at The Meadows and Rosewood Ranch.
