“I work collaboratively with clients to explore their concerns and struggles, build on their strengths, develop their inner resources, identify and achieve goals, and deal with unresolved issues from the past. It is important to me to establish a safe and supportive environment in which healing can occur. I work particularily well with individuals who have a deep commitment to self-awareness, personal growth, and healing. I take a holistic approach and am especially interested in therapy that integrates spiritual principles, psychological insight, and the wisdom of the body with a focus on empowering individuals.
I see individuals, couples, and groups addressing a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, trauma recovery, grief and loss, life transitions, spirituality, and family of origin work. Different theoretical approaches have influenced me including Jungian, psychodynamic, transpersonal, gestalt, and cognitive areas of psychology as well as mindfulness meditation.
To achieve a more holistic approach I work collaboratively with other practicioners such as psychiatrists, nutritionists, naturopaths, body workers, energy healers and others in the healing arts. In addition to working in my private practice I also teach classes in psychology at various universities in the Hudson Valley.”
