I believe we each possess the compass necessary to create change within our lives. The paths we intended to travel can become overgrown with the everyday struggles we encounter and we may become lost in the darkness of depression, fear, or anxiety. Counseling serves as a tool to help identify direction, encourage hope, and strengthen resolve. I offer both traditional and emergency counseling. I recognize the decision to enter counseling is difficult. Please feel free to contact me with questions or to schedule an appointment. My office is located in the beautifully restored Old Hardwick Inn in Hardwick, VT.

Pet-assisted therapy has become part of my practice. Research showns the inclusion of animals in the counseling session positively impacts clients of all ages. Pets help develop rapport, foster engagement, and build trust. Adults and children alike find an "office animal" a welcoming and comforting addition to their counseling experience.

Crisis Counseling is meant to assist individuals and families with stabilization, decision making, and treatment planning. During or immediately following a mental health crisis people often find themselves wondering, "what do I do next." Crisis counseling involves 1-2 sessions in which clients/family members can learn about treatments and options.

Taking the first step toward getting help is often the most difficult
