A history of working with children and adolescents for the past 15 years. A strong focus in family sytems, and actively include parents and families in treatment process. A specialty with adults suffering from depression, anxiety, and women's issues. I work from a family perspective, and feel family history is important. I have a background in substance abuse counseling and believe in 12 step programs. I value a comfortable therapeutic environment and strong therapeutic relationship.
I'm certified in EMDR and work with trauma victims. As a registered play therapist/supervisor, I work with children and their families and use sand tray therapy in the office. Often use techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy and internal family systems when working through issues of depression and anxiety in children and adults.
I am an active and lively therapist. I run adolescent and young adult groups. I find a healthy and strong therapeutic relationship can be the foundation for a successful therapeutic experience.
