It has always been my belief that people have the answers inside them the whole time, no matter the difficulty, if they can just be heard. Being heard by someone who does not judge, does not lecture, does not dismiss their thoughts or feelings. Hearing themselves and finding their way with support and feedback, with respect; respect that enhaces rather than coerces change.
My specialty in therapy has changed a few times over the years. I began as gambling counselor, substance abuse issues, Mental Health, adding now children and adolescents I enjoy working with the dynamics of Systems Theories with a twist of Motivational Interviewing.
