Thomas Schmierer, M.A. is warm, caring, compassionate, and supportive. He helps individuals, couples, and families to quickly reach their therapeutic goals. He can bring you one step closer to your goals in each session, starting with the first. Thomas helps individuals overcome various internal and relational challenges (e.g. recovering from affairs/addictions/abuse). He helps couples stop the "blame game" while rekindling their love for one another. He helps parents regain control over their children in a nurturing, yet firm way. More information about his Anger Management for Male Batterers therapy group can be found by scrolling down.
Thomas specializes in treating sexual addictions and anger management problems and has successfully treated most disorders. He has helped men with unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA) reverse their attraction to men and increase their attraction to women. EMDR is one method Thomas uses to help reduce the effects of trauma.
Thomas provides an extremely high quality of service due to his extensive practicums with three "forefathers" of particular psychotherapy movements: (1) William Glasser, M.D., founder of Reality Therapy, (2) Robert Resnick, Ph.D., world-reknowned Gestalt Therapist, and (3) Joseph Nicolosi, Ph.D., founder of Reparative Therapy.

Men w/ Unwanted Same-Sex Attraction (SSA) Support

This is a group of men with unwanted same-sex attraction (SSA). It is a supportive group focusing on helping you to feel the truth that you are "a man among men." In addition to offering support, the group focuses on individual processes and the group process, fostering greater overall awareness. The group's facilitator, Thomas Schmierer, M.A., is highly skilled and experienced in Dr. Joseph Nicolosi's reparative therapy tradition. Accordingly, a primary emphasis of the group will be on reducing shame and developing healthy same-sex relationships.

Men's Support and Process Group

This is a group of "men supporting men." Before coming to this group, you may fearfully want to keep your struggles private, thinking that no one else has such problems, thus no one could ever understand. After coming to the group and taking the risk of revealing the things that you are ashamed of, you are likely to discover that when you explain yourself well, other men will not only understand, but can be compassionate. In this group, we not only support one another, we focus on our individual processes and the group's process, seeking greater awareness.
