Thomas Ellis

Marriage & Family Therapist , MA , LMFT

(651) 433-6294
I am here to provide hopeful, strength based therapy during times of transition. This practice is based on trust and understanding and recognizes that every individual and family is unique. Therapy is a partnership with you and your path in discovering resilience during difficult life experiences. Clients will find a safe place to create a plan for healing and growth.I have had the privilege to work with individuals, couples, families and groups for 15 years. I am proud of the book I had published, This Thing Called Grief: New Understandings of Loss, which has been well received nation wide.
My specialty over the past decade has been primarily traumatic loss and complicated grief. The ambiguous loss work has included working with the M.S. Society, Brain Injury Society, Autism and Aspberger groups, to name a few. I continue to write and teach classes at the U of M and Hamline University.
I am a parent and value family as a top priority. I am a life long learner and collaborate with others during challenging times. I also value the art of writing, music, visual work and the environment in creating a sense of balance. You can read more at tomellisbooks.com.
