My practice is based on narrative therapy principles and honors the wisdom and creativity of the individual seeking consultation in development of a recovery plan. I believe that recovery from emotional challenges is possible for everyone. I serve as a resource person,a holder of safe space and and a witness for my clients. I am committed to an equal and respectful relationship and support the individual in naming her experience rather than utilizing diagnositic labels.rnrnI am woman-centered and my practice serves as a place of empowerment for women and girls.

My practice integrates a variety of theoretical perspectives but is most influenced by narrative therapy practices. I engage clients in conversations that support them in identifying how problems operate in their lives and creating new understandings and strategies for changing their relationships with problems.

I practice from a social justice perspective and recognize that external factors related to class,race,sexual orientation and gender can have a profound impact on one's emotional functioning. I support clients in addressing the impact of social and economic issues within the therapeutic environment.
