“I diagnose and treat all types of mental health, substance abuse, and marriage & family issues. Although, all my counseling is distinctly Christian in foundation, it is fully clinically competent in methodology and practice. I have particular strenghths in treating miltary and first responders and their families, especially in the area of post-traumatic stress. I also have specialties in Marriage & Family issues, marital communications skills training, pre-marital preparation, relationship building, life coaching, parenting, spiritual development, leadership and team building training, and domestic violence issues.

My preferred methodology is a blend of cognitive - behavioral, family systems, and short-term solution-focused techniques. Undergirding all aspects of my counseling style is the belief that faith is an integral component of healing. Consequently, the focus of my treatments are holistic, focusing on all aspects of human nature.

I served as a active duty Navy chaplain for over 20 years and have experience working with all branches of the services. Specific certifications: Critical Incident Stress Management (Mitchell model), Marriage communications skills (PREP/CPREP), premarital preparation (FOCCUS/ENRICH), Family and parenting issues(Family Wellness)& relationship building (PAIRS/PEERS).”
