Denise Deherrera

Drug & Alcohol Counselor , CACIII

Have you wanted to change something but felt hopeless inside or that your mind was willing but your gut said no way. Addiction affects all areas of our lives. Family, friends and co-workers are impacted by our behavior and our moods. Relationships fall apart, our bodies and our spirits suffer. I will help you find the clarity you need to break the cycle of addiction so you and those around you may lead happier lives. I will help you look at the impact this has had on your family and learn ways to get along with family members.
I help clients to identify their reactions through their capacity to witness emotions, thoughts, and sensations, and the meaning they give them. Understanding our experience gives us insight to be less blindsided with it so we become more open to experience whatever life offers us.
We will discuss, learn and practice effective new skills. These include communication, stress management and emotional regulation. I will help you learn to control anger through early identification of anger cues and application of skills to help you manage your anger.
