I work best with motivated individuals who will work with me and be courageous enough to be honest about their thoughts, feelings, and fears. My clients are expected to do assignments, readings, and offer feedback. I thoroughly enjoy seeing the progress that a child or an adult can make through self discovery that counseling offers. Ultimately we are the masters of our own lives, and it is by allowing the individual to unlock his or her own capabilities and potential, that the therapist is truly a success.
I offer my listening skills, a non-judgmental approach and respect for individual thoughts and feelings. Depending on the client, I use an eclectic approach that varies from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), humanistic and interpersonal counseling theories.
For the past several years I have counseled children, teens, adults, couples & families for a variety of issues. I also have experience working at facilities that specialize in inpatient psychiatric treatment services for children, adolescents and adults.
