I have experience working with relationships, eating disorders, addiction, mood disorders and trauma and I regularly work with adults, adolescents, and couples. I believe therapeutic work needs to be collaborative to be successful. My philosophy is to support the individuals and couples I work with in reaching the goals they set for themselves through treatment plans we create together.

I believe counseling provides a safe space to work through challenges, facilitate healing and promote growth. There are times when we experience trauma, life transitions, loss, and have difficulty coping. I will support you in living a more harmonious, self-aware and satisfying life. Healing begins with awareness of your thoughts, feelings and emotions and healing is possible in the context of safe and supportive relationships. It is my intention to create an environment that is empathetic and compassionate as you work through challenges now, but also to teach you ways to work with difficult thoughts and feelings in your future.

The process of finding and establishing a therapeutic relationship can feel overwhelming and vulnerable. Many people identify the desire or motivation for self-improvement but don't know where to start. This may look like maladaptive coping skills, substance use, relationship stress, or struggling with significant depressive symptoms. Together we will explore this and establish a plan to move forward.

My therapeutic style is rooted in my belief of our human potential to reflect, relate, learn, and grow. I help adolescents and adults with self discovery through life transitions. Life transitions are common and often support is helpful; whether that is a new relationship, big move, adolescence to adulthood, school or career path, parenthood, or if you are experiencing new, unexpected emotions in your life. I understand that these moments can be both exhilarating and daunting, and I am committed to providing the necessary tools and support to navigate them confidently.

Navigating this life is our greatest journey, and at times our biggest challenge. Asking for help, while difficult, can be the bravest and best way we support ourselves. No matter what obstacles you may be facing currently, you are not alone. During our time together, we will explore the patterns and stories that have been dominating your life and the systems around you. You are the expert of your lived experience, but sometimes it makes all the difference having assistance and guidance in changing the stories we are telling ourselves. Genuine connection is one of the most healing experiences.

I help my clients to heal from past hurts, honor their authentic self, and live wholehearted lives that are in alignment with their values. You deserve to reclaim your voice, power, and worth.

I have over 15 years of experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal relationships. I believe everyone already has the wisdom inside to heal but sometimes layers of trauma or pain can make it difficult to do so, and often causes symptoms such as anxiety and depression. I work with you to process traumas that can block the feeling of safety, content and happiness inside. I am trained in EMDR (an evidence based trauma therapy tool) that is used to process and heal traumas so that the system can rest and no longer has to fight to protect against the pain, fear, and emotions.

Do you ever feel like you are not enough? Do you feel overwhelmed and exhausted? Are you feeling stuck and not sure how to move forward? Have you been told you are too sensitive? It is okay to not be okay. We all suffer to varying degrees and about different things, but we are not alone; suffering is part of our common human experience. Rather than dismiss or invalidate yourself and your difficulties, it's important to recognize and acknowledge your challenges. How can you give yourself the same attention and care that you would someone you care deeply about? How can you cultivate kindness and compassion towards yourself?

You’ve read the self-help books, you’ve tried to work on changing your thoughts, you grabbed some anxiety medication from the doc, you’ve done the deep breathing techniques and maybe even tried meditation for a hot minute… …and still. No cigar. You're still feeling anxious, avoiding things in life, and wanting more for yourself. Imagine feeling completely confident that you’re enough, that people will stay in your life, you will feel happier and more rested, and you will have time to do all those other things and reach all those other goals on your list. I'm here to help.

Starting therapy shouldn’t feel scary, mysterious, or intimidating. You deserve to know what you can expect from our work together. We’ll begin with a conversation to help me learn about what brought you here. Maybe it was one big loss, change, or transition. Maybe it was the accumulation of smaller stressors. Maybe someone else told you this was the next step you needed to take. Maybe you’re not quite sure why you’re here – and that’s okay, too! I work with adults of all ages and particularly enjoy working with new and expectant parents and those adjusting to experiencing a life-altering illness or injury.

Great communication starts with a great connection. I have been working with individuals and couples since 2015, and I can help you move through and heal the hurt so you can get back to having a life of love and intimacy. It's really easy to fall into the trap of thinking that we are supposed to go it alone and having other people walking alongside us can feel vulnerable. Life is full of challenges; everything from parenting, to work stress, to finding the balance between work, life, and play. Things don't always need to be take overly seriously, and sometimes the best treatment is finding something to laugh about.

Life can be really hard, and sometimes the hardest part is asking for help. Humans are complicated, social beings who have been cut off from society and routine for the past two years. If you have a history of mental illness, relationship issues, identity concerns, mood changes, or life transitions, those feelings may have been exacerbated by our current world. If you are ready to ask for help, let me offer a relaxed, non - judgmental space to provide mental wellness. I have worked for close to a decade with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Denver?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
