When someone comes to my office, my goal is to help them feel comfortable enough to share their concerns so that together we can find effective ways of addressing whatever problems emerge. I have more than 30 years experience working in a mental health center as a clinician, supervisor and Assistant Director of Outpatient Services and for the past 20 years have also maintained a private practice.. My experience and training prepare me to treat a broad range of issues including mood disorders, addiction issues and relationship problems to name a few.
Beyond my experience at a mental health center, I completed a three year intensive training program obtaining a certificate in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I am very comfortable and experienced working analytically, cognitively (CBT) and with body/mind therapies. Additionally, I have worked extensively with addiction problems and with those in 12 step recovery programs.
One size does not fit all, and I work with my clients in whatever way benefits them most. I believe strongly in the importance of client/therapist fit and offer a complimentary consult by phone to assess whether or not we can work well together. Please feel free to call.
