My clients tell me that I have a calming, non-judgmental presence. I will treat your unique problems with respect and will lend my skills in observing, asking questions and providing feedback to help you find new options to adjust your situation or make specific changes. We can uncover your strengths and work through obstacles that have kept you from learning and growing. I will help you by using a blend of various theoretical approaches. My goal is to teach effective coping skills so you can create the changes that will work best for you.
My approach to psychotherapy stems from the belief that individuals need to be recognized and heard and that people can positively change. I believe that self awareness and acceptance are imperative to growth and maturity. Making healthy choices can be easier when someone guides you through the first important steps.
I enjoy working with adults who are feeling "stuck" and want to break free of unhealthy patterns of behavior. I often work with creative types (artists, writers and musicians) and those who live alongside them. I also enjoy working with introverted types who hope to seek genuine connection with others.
