Are you feeling sad, angry, stuck or confused with your job or your spouse or your family of origin or your friends? Does your self esteem vary widely in reaction to your circumstances? Do you try to control your emotional states by eating or witholding or other self destructive behaviors? If you wish to understand why these difficulties are going on, and want to work toward making change, I may be the therapist for you. I am patient, empathic, and directive.I am psychoanalytically trained but have respect for the pragmatic realities of everyday life. I genuinely love working with people in a therapeutic way.
With eating disorders, I use a variety of psychodynamic and CBT approaches, as well as working with a team of nutritional and medical specialists.I am also experienced in working with ptsd and various kinds of trauma survivors (personal trauma, natural disasters, and transgenerational trauma). I employ psychodynamic as well as psychoeducational approaches.
