I am Stephen G. Schneider, Ph.D., a Clinical Psychologist for over 30 years and the Clinical Director of Bryant West Psychology, a group psychotherapy practice in Midtown Manhattan (near Bryant Park) and online. We have over 35 Mental Health Professionals, mostly psychologists, providing Individual, Couples and Group Psychotherapy, and we are in-network with Aetna. As practice, we are a diverse group of clinicians, and we meet weekly (trainees meet twice weekly) for consultation to make sure we are helping our patients progress. We work psychoanalytically/dynamically, but our clinicians may be trained as well in DBT, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, EFT or other modalities of care. Our weekly seminar keeps us current.
As an Assistant Professor at UCLA and then Mount Sinai, I have taught psychotherapy to psychiatry and psychology trainees. I have been challenged continually to ask myself, what works in psychotherapy - what does not? I am grateful for all I have learned and the ways I have grown from my students and patients over nearly 35 years of licensed practice.
