In our sessions, I invite you to explore the incredible wisdom within your own body and the sensations it holds. By tuning into your felt-sense, we can navigate through current challenges and traumas with a gentle and curious approach. Embracing this journey of self-discovery, we'll create a space for release, recognition, and a sense of safety as we move forward. Each session will be centered around your unique experiences, combining a body-based perspective with the narratives we explore in talk therapy. If there's anything specific you're curious about or would like to share, I'm here to support you on this transformative path.

We are born into lives that are not our choosing. Our parents, circumstances, and impactful events can define us and become the narrative of our lives. You may have reached a place where you would like to examine this, to decide who and how you want to be in the world, to align your values, interests and passions with how you live each day. Coping skills learned at a young age may no longer be serving you, and it may be time to learn new skills to support your growth and wellbeing. Together we can explore how you got here, and develop a pathway to connect with your true self.

I’m so glad you’re here. Whether you’re looking for a therapist for yourself, your child, or a friend, welcome. This can be a daunting process, and I’m so happy you’re reaching out. If you’re struggling with mental health or life transitions, everything can feel so heavy. Will I ever feel better? Is it normal to feel like this? How do I even begin? Considering therapy is a perfect first step. You’re in the right place.

Welcome! Whether you are struggling with old issues or current stressors, together, we can discern what keeps you from showing up in the world the way you want. Most of our troubles are relational: how we relate to ourselves and others. And that's where much of our strength lies, too. Together we can explore ways to improve your relationships by healing past wounds and creating new ways to engage and be in relationship, be it internal, personal, or professional. I strive to provide a judgement-free space, making room for all the different parts of you, rather than pathologizing or "fixing" you.

We live in a complicated and challenging society and then, we have ourselves to deal with. Therapy is a good way to understand yourself on a deeper level so you can grow to your full potential and change the things that need to be changed. By doing so, we not only heal ourselves, but we are then a benefit to others in our life and to the world in general. I think I can help with that no matter where you are in the process.

Your thoughts may be moving toward pregnancy or starting a family in the near future. You may already be navigating conception, pregnancy, or postpartum and you are swimming in uncertainty. The shift to life with a baby has led to so many changes that you don't know who you are anymore. As a mother you may find tension between your intuition/body wisdom and dominant cultural messages. You may simply feel overwhelmed by life, surprised at how simple things feel so challenging. You may be curious if your current baseline is where you will live forever. Some part of you knows that it could be different but you aren't sure how.

Accepting New Clients... Life can take us on an unexpected journey. Sometimes, that leaves us feeling out of control and overwhelmed. Do you find yourself wishing things could get “back to normal”? Feelings of loneliness, anxiety, and depression are normal when we’ve experienced trauma, loss, or even a major life transition, but difficult experiences don’t define who we are. I have worked with children and families in a variety of settings and have several years of experience working with children who have experienced trauma. I believe that healing is possible.

Growth, healing, and change. It is my privilege and joy to work with clients to achieve these in their lives. We begin by building trust, exploring together, developing new insights, taking meaningful action, then sustaining new ways of being. I use mindfulness and nature to help clients, which can be done indoors or out. Similarly, looking at clients' internal parts, relational dynamics, and cognitions can help with transition, trauma, stagnation, depression, and more. I work to restore clients' sense of harmonious connection. I work with ages 7 and up.

I work with clients hearing their story and listening for the sticking points that need attention. My approach is client-centered that builds a relationship with the client. Therapy is a collaborative process between the therapist and client. I approach the therapeutic process as a powerful opportunity for clients to cultivate change and deepen awareness in their lives. I create a compassionate and accepting therapeutic environment where clients can feel safe to explore opportunities for personal and interpersonal growth. I am especially sensitive to how oppression impacts mental health and identity.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?
The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.
Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?
Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.
Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?
The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.
How much does therapy cost?
The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.
What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?
Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.
Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?
Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.
Is online therapy a good option?
Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.
Are therapy sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
