I see a wide range of clients who strive toward an authentic self, seek to explore growth and achieve their full potential. I have expertise in helping clients who have issues with anxiety, depression, and trauma and practice clinical interventions that are strength-based and solution-focused. I believe that psychological and behavioral problems are expressions of pain and efforts to cope with unacceptable environmental demands and consider therapy an important step in restoring resilience and making healing possible.
I graduated from Harvard University with my doctoral degree and completed my internship in cognitive behavioral therapy at McLean Hospital, Harvard Medical School. My current clinical approach includes interpersonal, existential, and trauma-focused therapy. For those who seek it, I can be a life coach. I currently offer therapy via teletherapy,
I am a Professor of Psychology in the Department of Psychiatry at Georgetown University, a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the author of three books, several chapters, and peer-reviewed journal articles.
