As an artist and art psychotherapist, I have found creativity to be a key in getting to possibilities and an expanded outlook. Working with children and adults has taught me that there is a way to access this in conversation and/or through creative arts therapies, such as art or writing. It is a rewarding experience to tap into one's inner resources and awaken the sources of active imagination for experiencing life in one's own unique form. My approach in therapy is client-centered and relationally based.
Thoughts, experiences, dreams, and road blocks can be explored in a variety of ways that can be surprising and lead to reevaluation of "problems" and a way to reinvision options in the present and for future. Often nonverbal communication methods can make visible positive paths.
Real situations can be dealt with in a confidential and empathic relationship that can be meaning and helpful in enriching one's life, outlook, and possibilities.
