Change is a guarantee in life and it is often difficult. My approach to psychotherapy is to not only understand problems, but to work with you using CBT techniques that have been successful for many others. I am founder of the Atlanta Center, established in 1985 and former faculty, Department of Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School's Center for Cognitive Therapy under the direction of Aaron T. Beck, M.D. Also, I am a founding fellow for the Academy of Cognitive Therapy and also Board Certified and Fellow of the American Board of Professional Psychology.
Along with private practice that focuses on the treatment of Depression, Anxiety and stress disorders, I also co-direct Atlanta Center for Cognitive Therapy's professional training and certification program that is approved by NBCC and APA since 1988 to offer continuing education to professionals. ACCT maintains responsibility for its programs.
"Overcoming Depression: A Cognitive Therapy Approach" (2009, Oxford University Press) is a patient workbook, with first author Mark Gilson, Ph.D. It describes CBT and contains methods to improve mental health. It is available at most online bookstores in both hard and e-book formats. cognitiveatlanta.com
