My mission is to serve my clients in a professionally caring manner that is respectful of each individuals situation. Have you ever gone to a treatment provider and felt that you weren't heard. This has happened to me many times and it is so frustrating. When someone is struggling with the stress of life finding someone to listen is difficult enough. Then add to that anxiety, depression, ADHD,obsessive thoughts,severe trauma or loss and the feeling of hopelessness and defeat can be almost overwhelming .This brings up the question"Does anyone really care?".
My approach is a very caring and nuturing one but with honest, clear and direct feedback. I believe in the power of cognitive therapy and solution focused therapy but most importantly the client/therapist relationship.
I've been working in mental health field for almost 30 years but beleive that I was born with a gift to help others. Education and experience have only allowed me to do what I'm passionate about. I currently provide supervision for prospective LCSW's in the state of Virginia.
