I am both a licensed Marital and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. I have over 15 years in the field, having worked with diverse populations including children in the DCFS/foster care system, adults struggling with substance abuse and mood disorders and individuals and families in the private practice setting. I enjoy working with clients of different ages, having spent equal time working with children, adolescents and adults. When meeting with new clients, I believe it important to take time understanding the unique circumstances bringing the person to therapy, so we can together develop an individualized treatment plan.
I am specially trained in Systems Therapy, which helps me see each client as part of a larger system of relationships. I believe in the importance of finding understanding and support, so clients are able to achieve long-lasting healing. The relationship between client and therapist helps this healing begin.
The diversity I've had in my training and professional experience has helped me better understand my clients and their needs. I believe it is important to connect with other people helping in my client's recovery, including doctors, teachers and family members to provide a comprehensive approach to treatment.
