As a counselor, I understand that trauma occurs at any age, in many different forms. It can be overt, in the case of physical abuse and death; ambiguous, in the form of divorce, break-ups, peer pressure, bullying and the impact of social media. It can also be entirely hidden from our consciousness. Counseling is a way to approach and connect with trauma in a safe place. It is a way to help yourself heal.
My specialties include self-doubt and low self-esteem, anorexia, bulimia, binge-eating disorder, depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, codependency, family dynamics and difficulties connecting in relationships. I specialize in issues that are particular to the developmental stages adolescents and adults. I work with individuals, couples and families.
As a mother of two young daughters, I am personally interested in the social, cultural, and global/technological stressors associated with our rapidly changing world.
