My hope in therapy is that I might help you find a position of personal power, where you begin to face and conquer anxieties that may have kept you from fully enjoying life. There is so much beauty in human resiliency, and it is this attribute that makes it unnecessary for us to continue to dwell in past trauma, and gives us permission to find happiness. It is my belief that you were born to find a state of true, lasting happiness, and that you are not only capable, but deserving of this, because you are human.
I enjoy working with adolescents and adults on matters of trauma recovery, anxiety management, mood management, behavioral issues, and adjustment disorders. My experience has led me through work in private hospital, intensive outpatient, state hospital, and residential treatment center settings.
I strive to model appropriate communication and relational skills in the therapeutic relationship. I also believe in the value of breath centered physical movement for relaxation training, emotional recognition, and emotional management, and often incorporate safe, accessible exercises into therapy.
