I believe that therapy is a powerful force in dealing with the emotions and difficulties that arise in daily life. It is my belief that in order for therapy to be effective, there must be trust between the client and therapist. Drawing heavily on humanistic theory, I utilize a collaborative, integrative approach to psychotherapy. I use strengths-based interventions to develop a strong therapeutic relationship and assist clients in the process of healing. I have training in the treatment of depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance use/abuse, self-esteem issues, and trauma-related symptoms in adolescents, adults, and veterans.

I work hard to take each client's uniquely individual characteristics into account when conducting therapy, and make great efforts to work in partnership with my clients toward their self-defined goals.

Dr. Koch-Timothy obtained her Masters and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the California Psychological Association, the Sacramento Valley Psychological Association, and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
