“One size never fits all. Each person and each issue demands its own caring approach. I work in the modes of cognitive-behavioral, family systems, Gestalt, psychodynamic, existential, reality, transpersonal, and bioenergetic -- all in a context of acceptance, warmth, and humor. Early gains rely on maximum challenge matched with maximum support.
I have successfully struggled throughout my life as a son, husband, and father of four. I know the pain of being wounded and the healing that is possible as well. I have helped kids as a school counselor and guide and supervise students as a professor in two graduate counseling programs.
Rather than being thought of as "sick," people need to be respected for the resources they have within themselves and with each other to gain the happiness they deserve. My job is to honor what people have done to survive and struggle with them to succeed in loving, empowered relationships.”
