“My clients tell me they feel relaxed and peaceful with me in the studio and that by using art to show how they feel, they in turn feel validated. As an art therapist, I believe all people have an innate ability to create. It is not necessary to be an achieved artist to have success in art therapy. The art process, used in therapy, can be healing and life enhancing. By talking about issues as well as expressing them on paper, a more "complete picture" is drawn out. The image, rich with insightful information, coupled with language often expedites therapy.

I prefer to meet my clients where they are in their journey. Listening to them, I invite them to express their experiences through metaphore, symbolism, and art. This process allows them to be authentic and to enjoy their creativity. Many times their creative process carries over into their daily lives.

In the sunny studio setting, serene music, an abundant array of art materials and compassionate care embrace my clients. The practice also offers expressive arts workshops, art classes and open studio times to compliment a client's art therapy and/or to help clients maintain goals obtained beyond therapy.”
