For 20 years, I have worked as a full-time professor of marriage and family therapy at Chapman University. I love training students how to be therapists -- but I might love working with my own clients even more. I specialize in helping people who have experienced childhood trauma, infertility, and loss. I also specialize in helping couples increase their relationship satisfaction, emotional connection, and recovery from infidelity.
My goal is to increase your capacity to tolerate difficult emotions and find peace, harmony, and increased quality of life. I use emotion-focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and EMDR. I also integrate mindfulness meditation and self-compassion strategies to help you transform emotions, thoughts, and behaviors and live a more meaningful life.
The best therapy happens when there is a good relationship between the therapist and client, and I believe this is one of my greatest strengths. If you look at the photos below, it will give you a good idea of who I am and what type of therapy I do.
