“I am a licensed psychologist and consultant with 15 years of clinical experience. I trained in multiple methodologies in both child and adult facilities, and completed a fellowship at Boston University's Danielsen Institute. My experience as a South African immigrant with multi-ethnic roots has resulted in a special focus on the field of resilience, identity and culture..and specifically on person-context interaction and the interplay with human empowerment and change. Specialties include work-life balance and fulfillment, stress reduction, creativity, life phases(ie college, midlife, marriages, work changes),identity, anxiety, social phobia, depression, and dating/relationships issues.
My model works to teach people how to discover their authentic selves, and to increase their understanding of the processes that undermine their interactions with self, others and the larger system around them. I tailor my approach to suit your unique concerns, and use a collaborative style.
Other areas of experience:assertiveness training,anxiety/fear management, decreasing negative thinking, finding a psychological home when you have spent your life moving, meditation training, interfaith or intercultural relationships, fear of committment, and couples counseling. My methods: (existential, cognitive behavioral, and psychodynamic) to name a few.”
