The natural course of life presents many transitions, challenges, peaks and valleys. Each of us is "hard wired" in a different way, whether it be "nurture" or "nature". There are times in our lives when we can bounce back from anything and then there are times in our lives when our resilience falls short. It can be extremely helpful to have another person offer us new perspectives, be a sounding board, be a reality check or show us the way out of the storm. I enjoy working with adolescents, adults and families.
A majority of my clients and or their families have dealt with some form of addiction. I know a great deal about this area. I also work a great deal with clients who are undergoing major life transitions. It is so helpful to have support and guidance at these times.
I am a very warm and compassionate person. I work very hard at staying up to date with new techniques and interventions to improve my practice. I maintain membership in a consultation group, which I think is imperative to maintaining a responsible psychotherapy practice.
