I take a holistic and contextual approach to therapy. I want to know your sources of pain - but I also want to know what you value, what has shaped you, where you draw inspiration, your beliefs, and how you feel in your own body. We’ll peel back layers, we'll process distress, and we'll build practical tools to manage the challenges you're facing. Ultimately, we’ll build a more authentic, empowered sense of self. If something is no longer serving you, let’s figure out how to change it. My areas of focus include sexuality, sex, identity, anxiety, depression, relationships, and life-transitions.

People seek therapy because they need to make changes in their lives. Whether feeling overwhelmed by current circumstances or unable to break away from old patterns and struggles, therapy offers clarity, hope, and the possibility of change. My experience and education have led me to believe that one of the most important aspects of psychotherapy is the client-therapist relationship: therapy is a relationship based treatment. My client-centered approach is built on a positive, mutually respectful relationship. My approach is individually tailored for each client, taking into account their past and their current situation.

Today is your last day of scrolling through therapists. The last day of doubting yourself and the true intentions of everyone around you. You feel anxious all the time, completely exhausted, and you can’t remember the last time you truly felt connected to your emotions or felt really grounded in your body. You have always wondered how everyone else can live so carefree. Well, it’s your time now to experience the profound peace of finally releasing all of the things that are keeping you stuck. You're longing for someone to finally see the real you, someone with whom you can engage in life-changing, powerful therapeutic work together.

Are you feeling disconnected from yourself? Are you overwhelmed trying to keep up with life? You may find little solace in your typical self-care practices, or struggle to find stability amid changes in life and identity. Stress and anxiety are constant, and despite your accomplishments, you are not experiencing the happiness that you expected. You regularly feel on-edge or detached, and significantly struggle being present in your life. With others, you yearn for deep connection while doubting your ability to sustain a loving relationship.

I strive to create a safe and accepting space to explore and discover an authentic lifestyle within these aspects of life. Through a sex positive approach, the goal is to reduce shame and enhance authenticity. Beginning with the exploration with relationship to self, my clients are able to enhance their relationships with others. Challenging the messages, beliefs and values family and societal has created allows for clients to learn and create their own narrative for the life that aligns with them.

It is my belief that we all have an innate desire to connect, feel heard, and be understood. My therapeutic approach is grounded in this belief, and it is my hope that we will create a meaningful therapy that is validating and encouraging, yet simultaneously challenging enough to be a catalyst for meaningful growth. Because change often occurs as a byproduct of a connected and understanding relationship, a critical task of therapy is to help you explore, understand, and challenge what meanings you have made of your experiences, and in so doing, facilitate a new experience of yourself or your relationships.

You're not sure when it started, or why, but something feels off. You feel the pressure building as you try to balance the things that take your time and energy in life. You want to feel lively, humorous, joyful, motivated, confident, and light, but it doesn't feel available to you. Maybe you've learned to approach life with grit and determination, appearing solid and self-sufficient on the outside, but feeling unfulfilled, unsupported, and disconnected in the inside. Well, all of that sounds hard, and I'm SO proud for you to take time for yourself to see if things can be different and better for you.

Our lives are full of beginnings and endings, of smaller and larger scale. Some changes are difficult to navigate, some we ignore and some we aren't even aware of. Before a new chapter can begin, one must be able to learn how to navigate through the experience and say goodbye. I facilitate opportunities that provide client's clarity and support with moving forward in the direction they desire. Making room for self-acceptance, more joy and deeper connections. I specialize in working with the marginalized and adults who are going through a process of change & growth, and those navigating difficult life transitions.

I specialize in helping clients work through automatic negative thoughts as well as retraining the brain to be a more compassionate place. Reaching out for a therapist is the first step in beginning to heal negative pathways. I believe that together we can create a safe, secure environment where issues, problems and harmful inner dialogues can have a voice and move towards healing. It can be difficult to identify these negative cycles but together we can find a plan which works for you. Therapy looks different for every person but begins with the therapeutic relationship, trust and vulnerability.

When therapy really works, the experience is soul-feeding and transformative. I work with people who want to deeply understand themselves, and any suffering they may be experiencing, as part of the path to feeling more grounded, content, and whole. This path is often mysterious and difficult, with twists and turns that can be hard to predict. But the process is also full of meaning and growth. I'm especially looking to work with people who are interested in investing deeply in this process and open to meeting multiple times per week.

FAQs - About Therapy and Counseling

How can I find a therapist in Denver?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Learn more about how to find a therapist

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
