“TEENAGERS! Is your teen getting the best of you? Making you question your parenting ability? Feeling sad or confused by a transition, trauma, or life stress? If your answer is "YES!" to any of these, rest assured that you are not alone. There are situations where it can be helpful for a skilled therapist to come alongside and assist youth in negotiating adolescence and encourage their worried parents in their changing parenting roles. Through the use of humor, flexibility, firmness and fairness I have developed a unique ability to connect with teens and their families.
In the course of therapy we can work on: Self-esteem, healthy expression of feelings, sad mood, frustration tolerance, anger management, organizational skills, ADHD, social skills, self discipline, self-injury, and anything else that comes up. We will also have family sessions to make sure that we are on track.
"Counseling with Olya took my daughter from being depressed to being T. again: open, happy, outgoing and more energetic. Olya helped to bring back the openness between us." Mother of T. (13). "Olya taught my mom and me how to communicate and helped us to learn to compromise." S. (16)”
