Founder of Family & Youth Institute, I am a licensed professional counselor and counselor intern supervisor. I also hold a doctorate in educational leadership and am a certified school counselor. Dedicated to helping people live the best life possible, I believe individuals/families can resolve their own problems, make healthy choices, and build a good life with the appropriate tools and skills. My mission is to provide those tools and skills through an eclectic counseling approach, utilizing psycho-education, individual counseling, group counseling, family therapy, and systems theory. offer educational consulting to help navigate 504 and Special Education placement.
My experiences include counseling couples, individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, anger, bipolar disorder, gay/lesbian, and substance abuse. As a school counselor and professional counselor, I have worked with adolescents and families. Attention deficit disorder (ADD), oppositional defiance disorder (ODD), and general behavioral concerns represent a major practice focus.
As an educator with 27 years of experience as a teacher and counselor, I help clients maximize their child's school success. As a certified parent instructor, I have worked with parents whose children are in the juvenile justice system and those who want to prevent misbehavior. Within my practice, I facilitate the Managing Yourself Behavior Insights Program.
