Therapy is a mutual endeavor. I believe, after 20+ years of experience, that my primary responsibility as a psychotherapist is to help you to reconnect with your own intuitive wisdom, which can get clouded by life stressors and relationship influences. Our work together will be tailored to address your unique needs, whether it be issues associated with depression, anxiety, sexuality, substance abuse, or a traumatic history; anything that creates a barrier to your best self. I also work quite effectively with couples, always looking to improve communication, as well as discovering underlying issues that can create barriers.
Research suggests that thoughts and feelings impact biological functioning and overall health. Subsequently, spirituality and mindfulness have become key components of my practice. I am certified in EMDR therapy, which has proven to be very effective in reducing trauma-related anxiety.
I consider it a privilege to work with people on their most intimate and personal issues. I am forever encouraged by the human capacity for growth and healing I have been fortunate enough to witness throughout my years of practice.
