Anxiety and Depression are the most common reasons people seek help. Life transitions such as divorce, custody issues, behavioral problems, are some of the other issues. Besides having over 20 years in private practice I have had many life experiences that provide insight and help me to encourage clients to feel safe expressing their feelings and talking about the problems that brought them in for therapy. I try to maintain an atmosphere that is welcoming and relaxing for my clients.
I treat mood disorders, children with challenging behaviors, marital/relationship issues, parent/child/adolescent problems, school problems, life transition issues, job stress, post-traumatic stress, a support group for parents of children with PDD, grief issues, anger management, substance abuse follow up treatment
I am a skilled clinical hypnotherapist and frequently, not always, use hypnotherapy to facilitate positive change. I am trained in the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Gestalt Therapy as well as other modes depending on what would be helpful.
