Do you feel overwhelmed and alone? Are you facing change in your life? I work mostly with individuals--teens,college age, 20 and 30 somethings, and those in mid-life and beyond.I especially like working with women in transition (getting into or out of marriage; starting a family or adjusting to an empty nest; starting school or a new job or ending a career; facing the loss of a spouse or aging parent). I like to help women and men who want to know themselves better and value themselves more as they go through life's challenges.
As a counselor with a private practice for many years, I have experience helping people with a wide variety of concerns. I am especially good at helping people who are feeling depressed and who have had difficult family backgrounds. In addition, I really enjoy work with adolescents and their families.
I am empathic and non-judgemental, but do provide direction and practical guidance. I thoroughly enjoy being a therapist and feel fortunate to have such a meaningful career. Though not a native, I have lived, worked, and raised my family in the Triangle for many years.
