I am a mental health counselor working in a private practice setting in Canton, GA. I serve a variety of clients, from children and adolescents to older, more mature clients with lots of "life experiences." I work with some individuals who have had a long history of mental illness and who have been treated in hospital settings for their condition. I also work with people who have never been diagnosed with a mental illness or hospitalized, but who are looking to work on particular issues in their lives and set goals to improve their relationships with others.
Sometimes I work with clients who have a deep spiritual belief system; at other times, I work with those who prefer to leave their spiritual beliefs outside of our sessions. Some of my specializations include teen issues, GLBT, substance abuse, family therapy, and marital counseling. Email is the best way to reach me.
I like to tap into my clients' creative energies by using art, sand tray, and music therapy as part of the healing process. I like to use Jungian Dreamwork analysis whenever possible, and I encourage journaling. I also like to guide clients to be mindful of gratitude. A special addition to our practice is therapy dog, Orion, who often joins in our sessions.
