Hello! When life throws obstacles and challenges your way and you are experiencing more misery than peace and joy, it may be time to seek support from a mental health clinician. The issue may be current (i.e., financial, marital, career problems) or stem from the past (previous traumas and abuse). Depression, anxiety, relationships, grief, self-esteem, work stress, and life transitions are only a few of the many areas I have worked with extensively. I offer a gentle, solution-oriented approach to therapy. I use an array of interventions that would best fit your needs. See www.drcantorna.com.
The combination of my psychology and nursing experience gives me a unique perspective into the health of your mind and body. Does anxiety cause insomnia or does sleeplessness make you worry? Is depression the source of your low energy, or fatigue the root of your sadness? It's all related.
Being born to immigrant parents, raised on Maui, and having resided on the mainland give me a special understanding of culture, minorities, and the newcomer experience. I use a compassionate, culturally sensitive approach. I love to assist couples and families heal relationships by teaching communication, fighting fair, and recreating intimacy.
