I provide a safe, trustworthy environment in which individuals, couples, and families are able to explore the challenges that prompt them to seek therapy. As a deep listener, I enjoy helping people clarify their concerns and find effective solutions. I infuse what can be serious and heavy work with humor and energy, to shift out of a focus on problems, into a focus on strengths and solutions.
Similarly, my coaching, supervisory, and training style is collaborative, empowering, strength-based, and solution-focused.
I have been working with children and families for more than 35 years. I have served as a therapist and clinical supervisor in a variety of treatment settings for children, adolescents, and adults, and directed a multicultural adoption and foster care placement and support program.
I developed and use a workbook, the Trauma and Attachment Guide, to help people work through and heal from traumatic events and disrupted relationships that have been hard to make sense of and put in the past. Extended Sessions, Intensives, Virtual Appointments, and Home Visits may be arranged.
