Using a collaborative approach, I work closely with you to provide a positive therapeutic experience. With over 30 years of clinical experience, I provide for many different populations with the belief that change and healing is possible - no matter the past. I can work with you in a more immediate solution-focused way to address a crisis, or at a deeper level to meet goals for long-term issues. As a Licensed Counselor and Certified Addictions Specialist for over 20 years, I emphasize progress, not perfection, and incorporate a non-judgmental attitude for those affected by mental health and substance issues.
I utilize an affirming, reality-based approach to counseling based on individual needs using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and mindfulness/stress management. In addition to talk therapy, I'm a Board Certified Art Therapist trained in Sandtray Therapy. Visual expression is a powerful tool to express concerns difficult to verbalize.
EMDR relieves trauma and anxiety reactions and has been invaluable working with survivors of accidents or abuse. EMDR is gentle and considered a best practice for trauma.
