The decision to enter the counseling process may involve letting go of stigmas and fears. I strive to create a safe environment in an atmosphere of unconditional positive regard so that each client feels the freedom to explore intimate concerns. I hold a PhD in counseling from the University of North Carolina Charlotte and am a certified hypnotherapist. My theoretical approach to counseling employs aspects of person-centered therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy and reality therapy. All are well established and respected therapies.
I have a special interest in working with individuals who have been battered or abused either sexually, physically or emotionally. I also hold a strong interest in working with individuals concerning sexuality, including sexual dysfunction, homosexuality, and transgendered concerns. I work with individuals or couples.
