New Perspectives has recently expanded to the Lutherville area! We have been a well-established group counseling practice in Owings Mills and Westminster for over 20 years. Our fully licensed professional staff includes psychologists, social workers, and licensed counselors. We offer individual, couples, and family counseling to all ages. I am a Psycho/Behavioral Therapist with over 20 years of experience in helping individuals and couples who are suffering from health and mental issues. I trained at both Johns Hopkins psychiatry department and McGill university center for cognition and medicine. In the last couple of year I focus on helping those suffering from chronic pain,depression, anxiety cognitive disorders, eating disorders, weight management and career counselling. I am a Cognitive Therapist and I believe that people have a choice, they can change their behavior, their thought process, learn to move forward and acquire hope.

Dr. Lanham treats children, adolescents and adults across the Lifespan. He served for 13 years as an Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, where he taught Neuropsychological Evaluation to neuropsychology fellows and medical residents. Prior to that, he served 7 years as the Clinical and Research Neuropsychologist at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center site for the Defense & Veterans Head Injury Program (DVHIP). Dr. Lanham utilizes an eclectic approach towards treatment, tailoring interventions to meet the specific needs of his patients and their families.

I specialize in same-day phone/on-site/on-line sessions/ interventions; teens, chronic relapse, Internet/cyber addictions, co-occurring issues, trauma & failure to launch young adult & family conflicts. I am certified for evaluations, treatment, pre-employment/random drug testing. I offer indiv., group sessions, EAP, custody evaluations, case management, anger/stress management, certified domestic violence batterer's intervention counseling, alcohol/drug treatment, including SMART non-12-Step & cognitive therapies. Inpatient evals & referrals & post-discharge continuing care & family therapy targeting "failure to launch" young adult issues. Most insurance accepted.
