I am a licensed professional counselor in the state of Pennsylvania as well as a nationally credentialed counselor. Additionally, I have served in the military. I have extensive experience in the treatment of trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety. I work with clients experiencing a spectrum of issues to include ADHD, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment to new life situations (divorce, retirement, transition from the military).

Not accepting new clients. The choice to start therapy can be a difficult one. Sometimes life’s greatest challenges also present opportunities for transformation. My desire is to provide a safe and comfortable space where that can occur. Psychotherapy can be a wonderful process to take much needed time for yourself. The world throws a lot at us. I believe therapy needs to be a conversation-tailored to each persons individual needs. Collaboration is key and my goal is to help my clients learn skills and strategies to increase coping and find peace. I also believe that change is possible for every person. I have more than five years of counseling experience working with individuals of all ages and many presenting problems. I have the most extensive experience working with people with mood related problems (such as: anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and others) and those who have experienced traumatic events.

With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, including being a school counselor and working in private practice, my heartfelt goal is to help others. We all struggle at times throughout life, and need some guidance. I offer a warm, compassionate, non-judgmental, safe place for people to explore life issues, and strive to teach people various life skills. My passion is to help others reignite the lights within them that have dimmed for whatever reasons. I specialize in mood disorders, including depression and anxiety, as well as grief, life changes, and trauma.

I have been helping clients of all ages, races, and backgrounds live more fulfilling, rewarding, hopeful lives for as long as I can remember. It was natural for me to become a psychologist and make my mark on the world by doing exactly what I loved to do. Although my clients continually tell me how much they are helped by therapy, I can honestly say that I am the one who is truly changed by helping others. No matter what your difficulties are, I can assure you that you will be changed in some way by entering therapy. There is no difficulty too great or too small to work on in therapy. The only constant in life is change.

Sometimes it is difficult to like ourselves, let alone love who we are. We are our own harshest critic! I am a therapist with 27 years experience counseling both the substance abuse and mental health population. I also have over 30 years personal experience with addiction and recovery. The majority of my education and interest has been working with the dual diagnosed population, (addiction and mental health). Treating both these illnesses simultaneously promotes the best outcome for recovery. I believe those who have an underlying mental health diagnosis coupled with an addiction to drugs or alcohol may be self medicating their mental health illness.
