Welcome! I am Timothy Gartz, MSW Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Mesa, Arizona. My greatest desire is to provide a professional environment of trust in order to explore any of your challenges or life adjustments. I am a skilled therapist with 20 years of practical experience in a variety of locations and settings including private practice, broad state health clinics in Hawaii, St. Louis, and Denver as well as internationally in Hong Kong and Shanghai. I come from a community mental health background. Therefore I have worked with many situations and people. I have also spent the last couple of years working in helping people who are in crisis resolve their problems and restore their hope. Often helping them to identify their strengths. I have worked with adolescents struggling with life events and self harming behaviors. Couples counseling, geriatric counseling, and a great deal with trauma and past abuse.

My passion, since I was a child, has always been with working with people of all ages, and helping them form healthy relationships with themselves and others. While I have spent years working with emotionally challenged children, tired and exhausted parents, at risk teenagers in both the UK as well as in the US, my goal is to continue providing supportive and therapeutic approaches while also teaching skills and strategies to deal with pressure and stressful situations in life.

For 20+ years, I have enjoyed working with a diverse population of all ages from a variety of backgrounds. My clients have shaped how I practice. I work from a cognitive behavioral, solution-focused, trauma-informed foundation. I help clients develop and integrate new patterns into their lives that can bring them out of crisis, enhance their lives, and help them transition into their 'new normal'. I encourage clients to focus on what they can control, to activate in positive ways, and to problem solve. I'm chronically optimistic, and like to integrate humor and fun into sessions.

I am here to bring hope to people who are hurting. Every person, made in the image of God, is valuable. My personal mission statement is "to heal the brokenhearted and set the captives free", taken from Isaiah 61:1. With compassion, I try to help each person untangle what is often "the web" of their situation and assist them in overcoming difficult circumstances in life. A person may have been abused and feel great stress, despair, and even torment. Regardless of your life story, I believe that with God, there is a clear pathway to a better life.
