I have been an active member of my community for most of my life. I began caring for others at age 15 by working as a nursing assistant in a local nursing home. I have volunteered as an Emergency Medical Technician and was a foster parent for nearly 100 children over a 13 year time span. I am passionate about helping people of all ages reach their personal or professional goals. Children, families and adults are very special to me. Children ages 0-10, pre-teens, teens, college students and adults of all ages. Parent/Giuardian involvement, both father and mother, is mandatory when working with children. I have extensive training and experience in trauma treatment, family therapy, ADHD assessment and treatment and anxiety. My areas of specialization include depression; anxiety; trauma issues including rape, incest and childhood/adult emotional, physical and sexual abuse, neglect and poverty; grief and loss; and life adjustment.

I currently offer individual therapy to address mood disorders, post traumatic stress disorder, anxiety disorders and other issues related to behavioral health, stress, and grief. I am experienced in both individual and group crisis counseling and offer relationship, and family therapy. I am working on offering several therapeutic groups including a support/educational group for parents of behaviorally challenged children, a sexual assault group and a homicide support group for surviving family members. In home counseling for agoraphobic situations are available.

I have been practicing in Lakewood for over 17 years. Prior to that, I was in New York, where I was Assistant Dean of psychology at Adelphi University in addition to my private practice . My style is both supportive and interactive. I will work with you to help you to understand yourself and to identify your life goals.

Lori Wolfe earned her master's degree from Ohio University in 1994. She has worked in private practice settings, as well as community mental health. Lori's treatment focus is couples, adults, and very young children. She specializes in helping families with parenting concerns and new mothers experiencing postpartum depression. Lori is adept in assisting couples with marital issues and she has a wealth of experience treating adults with anxiety and depression.

I have extensive training and over 30 years of experience working with adult survivors of childhood abuse and pregnancy loss, including abortion. I hold an MA in Mental Health Clinical Counseling and have completed the Jungian Professional Psychotherapy program with the CG Jung Institute of Chicago. Additionally, I work with couples using the Gottman Method to strengthen relationships and deal with underlying issues. I also hold a certification for coaching with the Enneagram. Recently, my husband and I celebrated 44 years of marriage.
